Sell Multiple Night Bookings in a Single ClickβοΈ
Want to increase your average room nights? An effective way to sell multiple room nights is to add value! Packages are a great way to do this by bundling up a set night stay with activities, food & wine, and/or events.
Create packages that will be enticing for your guests based interests, events and celebrations. Work with local partners that can add value, plus you can earn a commission from sales.
Once you've designed the packages, our handy checklist is a great way to make sure your customer can find, and book them!
βοΈ On Your Website π»
Dedicate a page on your site to packages so you can promote each one with detailed descriptions and images of that reflect the inclusions. Make sure you have a BOOK NOW button so they can be booked online.
βοΈ Bookable on ResBook π³
You will sell more packages if they can be booked online 24/7 via ResBook, don't ask people to request or email you for a package. You can do this easily on ResBook by setting up each package as a "virtual room type" so it is linked to your room availability.
Packages can be a great form of content that sparks inspiration through social media. Plan both organic posts and paid campaigns to get further reach. Make sure you tag the suppliers in your packages in the posts!
βοΈ Promoted By Your RTO π§
Your regional RTO is always looking for new product information to share with the travel trade, media and in consumer campaigns, so make sure you email them with the details including images and links to your website for bookings.
βοΈ On the Tourism NZ Website π³πΏ
If you are listed on newzealand.com you can also add deals and your gift vouchers. Login to your account and add them from your business and product listing. These provide amazing exposure for free!

August has shown some growth in bookings for accommodation across New Zealand. Our latest Booking Intelligence data reflects the following for August, see how your own data compares:
Booking volumes (up 5%) and revenues (up 13%) both increased in August compared to July.
When comparing bookings to August 2022, revenue is down 38% however this period was not long after borders reopened so we can expect it to be difficult to match those volumes. The August 2023 revenues did exceed what was achieved in both August 2021 and 2020.
Overall, the average booking value YTD for 2023 is down 22.5% compared to 2022 (this has decreased from being down 28% at the end of July).
Booking volumes YTD are slightly higher than the same period in 2022, and are at 75% of the same period for 2019.
