Customer Showcase: Nest Treehouses
In our inaugural Customer Showcases, we are shining the spotlight on Liz from the incredible Nest Treehouses located in the Hakataramea Valley, North Otago. Here she shares a bit about her journey and provides great insights for other accommodation providers.
ResBook: What do you see as the biggest challenge for the next season?
Liz: Continuing the interest and momentum we have picked up this year. When we opened last year, New Zealand's borders were shut due to the covid pandemic - which meant we were able to catch the kiwi travellers imaginations and offer something different as they couldn't venture overseas. Now with the borders open I hope we will keep enjoying and travelling, experiencing what our own country has to offer.
ResBook: What is one piece of advice you would give someone who is looking to start an accommodation business?
Liz:Create something authentic. The treehouse accommodation was a no brainer for Andy and I. We wanted a point of difference, and growing up with our own treehouses we thought it would be pretty cool to design and build an accomodation where people can return to their childhood sense of fun and adventure, while still enjoying the luxe comforts of a high end stay.
ResBook: How has ResBook helped you and your business?
Liz:ResBook Customer Support, namely Priyanka, has been an amazing help throughout the entire process of bringing our business to life. Always patient and ever helpful - Priyanka helped set up our booking system, talked me through how it all worked and has always been there to support me when I have had a mind-blank or a technical snaffu.
ResBook: If ResBook could solve one of your business challenges, what would it be?
Liz:I would really really love it if ResBook could incorporate taking vouchers in their system. We have a number of people wanting to purchase vouchers and it would be amazing if they could go through and book one using the existing booking system instead of having to come back through me.
